Welcome to week 5

Welcome to week 5.

A big welcome to Aayush and his family who have joined our Ngā Puna whānau. It is lovely to have you with us at Waimairi School.

It was great to see a 'fly through' of our new school building during meetup this morning. Progress is looking great and it's coming together nicely. What a treat to be able to view it clearly on our new projector screen in the hall!  A big thanks to our P.T.A for all of the hard work they do, and to you all for supporting their fundraiser's.
Our Ngā Puna kids were watching the workers install the new projector. Their inquisitive nature and desire to 'know' saw them checking up on the workers progress over the course of the morning!

Sparklers
We have started to share and involve the Ngā Puna children in the sparklers activities from the Allright Mental Health initiative. It was developed in response to requests from the education sector for tools to help them support and promote the wellbeing of young Cantabrians.

Sparklers is a free wellbeing toolkit full of fun and simple activities to help children learn about their own mental health and wellbeing. Sparklers actively teaches tamariki how to manage big emotions, draw upon their strengths, connect with others and be ready for learning. This week we are looking particularly at activities from the managing emotions section. check it out at  https://sparklers.org.nz/

You may be interested in the "whanau" menu and to practise and let your child tell you about the activities we have done.
