Welcome to week four

Kia Ora whanau. Welcome to week four of our ten week term. The weeks are certainly flying by! Thank you to those of you who were able to attend our Nga Puna whanau evening/pool party last Thursday. It was lovely to connect with you all outside of school hours. The kids had a great time as did we. Welcome to Lachie who is starting school in Nga Puna this week. Happy birthday Lachie.  You have already made connections with known friends and have made some new ones also! Next week on Tuesday the 3rd of March , Nga Puna will be visiting St Andrews College. We are heading to the science department. A perfect place to encourage our curiosity! We will be walking down together as a group. If you are able to be a parent helper on this class trip please get in touch with either Lynley or Tina. We will be leaving school at 10:25 back in time for lunch. Just a quick reminder to hit 'subscribe' at the top of this blog, that way any new posts will be sent straight to your inbox.

Learning at learning choices

Image
We have been busy during our learning choices this week. Here are a few photos of what we have been up to. We love listening to the conversations that happen between children as they make space to include their friends into their play. Children are encouraged to explore, create and play during learning choices.

Ngā Puna family picnic/swim evening - 5:00 to 6:30 - 20th of Feb

Kia Ora all. A reminder that we have our Ngā Puna family swim and picnic dinner at school, 5:00 to 6:30. B.Y.O dinner (no alcohol) and enjoy a swim in the school pool. A very low key way of connecting with other families in our Ngā Puna team. Pack the p.j's for after our swim, ready for bed when home. All are welcome. See you there :) Nga Mihi Lynley and Tina.

welcome to week 3

Kia Ora Whanau. A hot week coming up looking at the forecast.. A good idea to bring togs to school every day this week. We may be able to sneak in a 'free swim' outside our normal swimming days to cool off. A big welcome to school to Amelia and Kahu who are joining us this week. It's great to have you with us in Ngā Puna. A reminder that this Thursday we have our whanau/family swim and b.y.o picnic, 5:00-6:30. A good way to meet new faces and make connections with people from our Ngā Puna class. Pack the P.Jj's to pop on after last swim, all ready for home. Friday's in Ngā Puna are hotdogs and bikes! American style hotdogs are able to be purchased from the school hall for $2.50 which will support our P.T.A. Bikes can also be brought on Friday's to be used during learning choices times. Scooters can be used during learning choices on any day. Have a lovely week all. As usual, any questions or queries please come and see us. Regards, Tina and Lynley.

Welcome to week 2

Welcome to Week 2 of Term 1. We will be sending books home this week. Children will bring a different book home each night. Your most important job is to share the book with your child and not to stress or worry about the 'how' they are reading - easier said than done we know! Enjoy the conversation that occur when reading and celebrate their fabulous reading together. We have a long ways ahead of us to work on the 'how'. Family night coming up - Thursday the 20th of February Come along to our school pool on Thursday the 20th of February 5pm - 6:30pm for our Ngå Puna whånau evening. Bring a picnic rug and dinner for your family and  enjoy a swim. A chance to connect with families in our Ngå Puna space and perhaps put some names to new faces. Bring P.J''s after swim if you like, ready for bed when home. Thank you for such a wonderful start to our school Term. We have delighted in seeing the smiles and confidence grow in your children. As usual, any quest
