Term 4 - Week 7

Greetings families. Welcome to week 7. It was so lovely to get into the pool last week while the weather was warm. Our regular slots are Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, however if togs are brought to school everyday we may be able to sneak in another few swim sessions here or there when the pool is free. We do not go swimming unless the outside temperature is 16 degrees or above.  We really enjoyed hanging out with the older Waimairi year 5 children in Nga Puna this afternoon. They came across to show leadership in small group settings. They read poems with us, helped us to make connections through conversations and helped our younger children with the cutting and colouring activities they had set out. Tuakana Teina is shown when an older child supports, guides and helps a younger child. We love seeing this in action in Nga Puna. Upcoming dates and events Tuesday - Kapa Haka Friday - hotdog day and bike day Everyday - swimming togs to school please Monday 30th November - Tina, Sue and V

Togs, Togs, Togs Speaking of hot weather and Summertime fun, our School pool is up and running, ready to go for our school swimming slots. We are so fortunate to enjoy our heated school pool. From here on in please bring named togs and towels to school daily This way if there are any free slots we can sneak in a few more sessions.  Most of our kids have hats now. If you haven't already done so please make sure your child has a hat at school daily. The weather was very hot today, consequently those without hats needed to play under shaded areas. We sunscreen children before lunch play and always have sunscreen readily available in Ngā Puna.  Photo time! It's great to watch the children share their interests with others whilst taking full advantage of what's out and on offer during learning choices.  We are on the hunt for ice - cream containers that are golden in colour. We have plenty of the blue and white. If you have any floating around home please pass them on to us, it would be greatly appreciated.  A big welcome to Waimairi School to Grace this week. Happy birthday Grace and welcome to Ngā Puna. Ngā Puna visited Wai iti (the library) today. A gorgeous space in our new building, right next door to the coffee shop.
