Term 3 week 10

Welcome to week 10, the final week for Term 3 before holidays.

We hope you all have an enjoyable holiday coming up and get in lots of rest and relaxation.  This Friday as a 'celebration' we are heading down to Plynlimon Park (Follow the cycle way over Wairakei road and it's on your right hand side). We are leaving school at 1:30. It would be great if you could meet us down there. A good  way to meet and connect with some of our new to Waimairi School families and/or getting together again...cause we can! Yay for level 1!! 

You are more than welcome to leave for home from the park. Please just let us know your intentions and we can make sure your child brings their bag down with them.

Upcoming dates and events

  • Monday 12th of October - Beginning of Term 4 - school starts
  • Staff only days for moving into new building - Week 2, Thursday and Friday, 22nd and 23rd of October.
  • Mufti Day - This Friday the 25th is Mufti day. lease bring a gold coin that will be used to go towards prizes for our upcoming community open day on Thursday 22nd October from 3-5pm.
  • Thursday the 22nd October from 3-5pm. Come and see our new school.

Term 4 - Week 3

 Kia Ora families. Thank you so much for your support and understanding as we moved into our junior  Ngā Puna space at the end of last week. Yet again the resilience of our children and willingness from them to accept change is just outstanding. You should feel very proud of them all. We had a wonderful day in our new setting today. It was lovely to re connect with friends from the beginning of the year and with our other Junior teachers.   Our children walked through our lovely new building today to make connections with things that are the 'same' and things that are 'different'. The general consensus was people are the same, places are different! They did so well.  This Friday the 30th of October is our offical opening of our new school with ribbon cutting and all! Picnic at Edgar Macintosh Park tomorrow? (Friday the 18th) - Message from a parent.

  Kia ora koutou, Please see a lovely invitation for a get together after the assembly tomorrow. Unfortunately the teachers can’t attend as we still have to be ‘at school’ til 3!! Thank you so much to the parents who had this idea  a couple of nga Puna mums are going to have a picnic and paddle at Edgar Macintosh park tomorrow following the final assembly. All welcome. Would you consider sending a message to the nga Puna parents for anyone that is keen?
