Week 7 Term 2

Image
Kia Ora families. Welcome to Week 7. We did it!  New Zealand is moving to alert level 1! Thank you all so much for your support from 'afar' as we started our Term two under very different circumstances. The trust you have shown in us to look after your we people has been so appreciated. We are absolutely blown away with the resilience of our tamariki. They have just 'got on' with so much new learning and ways of being at school. Ngā Puna may be the youngest, but we think we are the most courageous! Below is some info sent out from Mike this evening. What does this mean for school tomorrow? -We switch to using the  NZ COVID Tracer app  for checking in. All parents, staff and other visitors need to use the app each time you arrive at school. It is a very simple process, no need to type in any details, just scan and you are done. Download and set up the app tonight. -You are all welcome inside our buildings,  after 8:30am  each morning. In bad ...

Week 6 Term 2

Kia Ora Whanau. Welcome to Week 6. And just like that, winter is here...brrrrr! So glad to see all the lovely winter weather gears being worn at school. Our tamariki are getting so good at hanging up jackets and lining their gumboots up just inside the classroom door. Good stuff. Welcome to Ben who has joined us in Ngā Puna this week. Lovely to have you with us Ben. Also Ngā Puna welcomes Sue Marshall and Vanessa Reynolds who are working in Nga Puna until the end of Term. What a beautifully busy week last week. So lovely to get back into our reading programmes and regular weekly activities. If you have any small boxes at home we would love to have them to replenish our box construction area, eg toothpaste boxes, soap boxes, shoe boxes etc. Thanks team. Have a lovely short week. As usual, any questions or queries get in touch with us. We're here to help. Many thanks Tina and Lynley.  Our lovely Learning Assistant Debbie with Blake ...

Kia Ora Whanau. Welcome to week 5 of our 10 week term. A huge welcome to Mishary, Harley, Scarlett, Elijah, James and Ollie who are joining us in Nga Puna this week. Lovely to have you and your whanau with us as you start your schooling. Also, a big welcome to our lovely Learning Assistant Debbie Gillet to our Nga Puna teaching team. (photo to come) Debbie is on our P.T.A and often helps out in the school coffee shop as well. Super lucky to have Debbie with us, she is fabulous with our tamariki. A huge thank you to all parents and caregivers who are following the Ministry lead rules whilst on the school grounds. The QR code scanner sign in may feel like a pain but it really is absolutely essential to do this every time you come on to the school grounds.  A few reminder from Mike, you are able to come onto the school grounds after 8:30am for drop offs. One person per family please and only after signing in, however you are unable to enter any building. We are now able to ...

First day back for Term Two

Image
Hi everybody. What a fabulous first day back we just had!! We are both absolutely chuffed with the kids. Such courage shown this morning upon arriving at school. For some this will have been their very first time at arriving into Nga Puna on their own and they all did absolutely wonderfully. They all deserve an especially big squeeze from you! You should all feel very proud. We spent the day reconnecting with our friends, playing outside and inside and reminding each other to keep out of our 'moist breathe zone' (keeping your own bubble safe). We know it concerns the kids, and you may be wondering but we are still unsure as of yet when we will be allowed reading books home. For now we're continuing on with our usual class programmes. Have a lovely evening with your kids. We have loved being with them! See you tomorrow Many thanks Tina and Lynley.
